The webinar "Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts: Byzantine Catholic and Orthodox Issues of Liturgical Practice" was hosted by the Department of Theology and History of the Eastern Churches of the Faculty of Catholic Theology of the University of Vienna on June 26, 2023.

Historical and contemporary liturgical aspects of Byzantine liturgy are conveyed and discussed from a Greek Catholic and Eastern Orthodox perspective.

Stefanos Alexopoulos (The Catholic University of America, Washington), who is the author of the book "The Presanctified Liturgy in the Byzantine Rite: A Comparative Analysis of Its Origins, Evolution, and Structural Units" presents historical outlines of this Liturgy in Eastern Orthodoxy and addresses the question of contact consecration.

Daniel Galadza´s (Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome) presentation "The Liturgy of the Presanctified Grifts in the Tradition of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Today" focuses on the celebration of this Liturgy in Byzantine catholic context.
