From winter semester 2022/23, a Bachelor's programme in Orthodox Religious Education is offered for the first time.

The new Bachelor's degree offers a comprehensive introduction to all subject areas of Orthodox theology, expanded by the planned educational science components, and prepares students for the Master's degree with a focus on Orthodox religious education.

In this form, the offer of a Bachelor's programme in Orthodox religious education is unique in the German-speaking world. The denominational parts of the curriculum are offered by Orthodox teachers from the University of Vienna and the Kirchlich-Pädagogische Hochschule Wien/Krems.
